Address Signs

Residence

  • Green aluminum signs with 4″ white reflective letters
  • Must be visible to drivers as they approach the structure

Driveway

  • Must be 5-7’ above the road surface (so cars and trash cans don’t obstruct the view) and in a safe location
  • Must be visible from both directions of travel at least 50 feet away from the driveway turn-in (25 feet away if cars drive less than 20 mph on the road)
  • Must be located on the same side of the roadway and separated from mailboxes with multiple addresses

Entrances & Gates

  • Must be positioned to indicate correct access route
  • Can include arrows to clearly indicate correct access
  • At each gate, post all addresses located beyond the gate, and position so it is visible when gate is both opened and closed. 

Street Signs

  • Green aluminum signs with 4″ white reflective letters

  • Must be visible from both directions of travel at least 100 feet away from the driveway turn-in (50 feet away if cars drive less than 20 mph on the road)
  • If your private road does not have a name, name your road so EMS can find you

Direction Signs

  • Brown signs with details such as distance in feet or miles to a turn-around or egress
  • Brown signs with details such as distance in feet or miles to a residence or structures
  • Brown signs with details such as types of water tanks
  • Should have exact wording and location approval from Central Fire
